THE SPARK LAB
Transforming Ideas & Stories...
WHY THE SPARK LAB?
Effective communication and the sharing of ideas significantly influences our learning experiences as speakers and listeners.
The Spark Lab is an extracurricular initiative founded by two graduate students from SFI, Ugochi Imoka and Jillian Harris. The idea sparked from their desire to enhance their presentation and public speaking skills, aiming to transform complex concepts into clear, engaging, and easily digestible content.
The Vision
An intimate cohort of ten students will convene monthly, from October to December, with each participant delivering a concise, purposeful presentation on a range of topics.

Purposeful Presentations
Each session will spotlight a distinct aspect of public speaking, such as:

-

-
Honing verbal & non-verbal communication techniques
Constructive & Guided Feedback
Following the presentations, the group will engage in a constructive feedback process. This approach nurtures a supportive atmosphere that:

-
Encourages continuous skill development
-
Promotes playful risk-taking in presentation strategies
-
Cultivates performative self-awareness & supportive critique practices
